Origin Story: October 31st 1996

It all started in 1992, a few religious like-minded families started to read the “Satcharitra” of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba and also started singing Sai bhajans - in Sai Krishna Colony, Old Bowenpally, Secunderabad. It started - spreading to the adjacent Colonies like Mallikarjuna Colony, Syndicate Bank Colony, Vysya Bank Colony, Hasmathpet, Balaji enclave, R.R.Colony and many more -. On the 31st of October 1992 there was - first collective congregation of above 200 devotees for collective bhajans and community lunch.
As the- spiritual movement was increasing day by day - - Saints and Peers in the Sai Cult were invited and - the devotees started increasing every Thursday of the week. At this moment – few of the devotees came together and Sri Sai Siva Shakthi Samajam was formed under the guidance of Sri K.Srinivasa Sarma( who had given- this name to the Samajam). The purpose of forming the Samajam was to build a Sai Temple in the locality. - Plot No. 67 in –the colony was located in the year under the advice and guidelines of Ms. Saraswathi Amma of Akhanda Sai Nama Sapthaha Samithi and Sri B.Shankaraiah of Sri Nagar Colony, - Sri K.Satya Adhitya garu Sanskrit Teacher HAL Colony High School, Balanagar was approached for advice and guidance for - construction of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple. On his advice, - - construction of Dwarakamai and Dhuni was started in July 1996. - - All the Colony members were invited to help in construction and shramadanam.
Dwarakamai was built with wire cut bricks and dhuni was constructed with ceramic fire bricks brought from Ms. Raasi Refractories, Hyderabad. The photographs of Dwarakamai Sai Baba and Avadhutha Rami Reddy Tatha were painted by an artist in total “Mounavrath” under the aegis of Ms. Saraswathamma of Akhanda Sai Nama Sapthaha Samithi at Safilguda, Hyderabad. These photos were in the mean tine taken to Sidhulagutta a popular Sivalayam near Shamshabad and then later to Kallur near Kurnool to the Samadhi of Avadhuta Ramireddy Thata.
On 31st of October 1996 the Sacred Dhuni was ignited by Ms. Saraswathamma with Coal brought from Shirdi and Dwarakamai Photo was positioned by Sri Sai Ram a devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba from Shadnagar.
